Miss Dress greeted a group of 19 that first day. Pat Rydstrom, the friendly neighbor, had to walk Ronnie Howard to school because he was afraid to walk alone. ln the second grade jim proved to be a problem. As ever he continually played during school time, and due to Mrs. Waldstein's insistance was working during recess. Karen Braunschweig joined our class this year. ln the third grade Mrs. Custis encouraged our healthful habits by a chart in the form of a house. Behind the shutters of the windows were our pictures. If we succeeded in performing certain tasks we were allowed to open the shutters. In the fourth grade, Miss Lovrien introduced history and geography to us. This was the year Mary Barber and Dennis Arndt joined our group. Miss Lovrien liked us so well that she moved to fifth grade as we did. This was the year our boys' trio dressed up like Negroes and sang Down Yonder at P,T.C. Gary Walton joined us in the sixth grade. This same year Don Grow kept losing his report card but somehow it always managed to end up on Mrs. Benson's desk. With half of the grains fallen in our hour-glass we finished sixth grade and proudly joined junior high. ln the fall of 1954 Mr. Beckel welcomed us to jr. High. lt was different from the grades. Everyone enjoyed it very much, particularly the theater parties and skating parties. We al so got our first sample of basketball and cheerleading in these grades. The biggest day of our freshman year was the day we were initiated. lt was a big thrill to finally be members of high school. ln the sophomore year we got our first chance at driving and it is believed this is where Mr. Hazelhoff developed his ulcers. Some of the main reasons were because of Mary Dell and Mary jeanine's insistance that the highway wasn't wide enough so they drove off the road. Three big thrills in our junior year were the prom, receiving our class rings, and our play just Ducky . All the work we put into the prom seemed worth while on the big night. The last grains of sand were beginning to fall when we began our senior year. Most of our spare time was spent working on the annual, speech, and the Senior Play. With the final grains of sand having fallen we received our diplomas. Our group hour-glass was then completed and we were each ready to watch the grains of sand in our individual ones. lass Will Karen Braunschweig wills her level headed ways to joyce Erickson. Mr. Trafton M- Friends: I would like to introduce you to a new and extraordinary magazine edited by IERRY MOWRY entitled True Love and Mush. Part of the popularity of this magazine is accredited to its lovelorn column edited by MARY BARBER. She advertises, Write and tell me your problems, and I'll tell you mine. This magazine, whose title is somewhat deceiving, covers a large variety of subjects and contains articles that are written by such well-known authors as HM WEISHAAR, His article, The Sod Busters Rise Again , is an excerpt from The Successful Farm Magazine edited by IANET NATION. The human interest of this publication is not limited merely to agriculture. It includes many other fields of interest such as science. This month's issue includes a seven page article featuring that great explorer, EDITH ANDERSON, who has just come back from the moon with samples of green cheese. Our periodical also includes an extensive section on movies and stars. This month's issue features a picture series of the wardrobe of Elizabeth Taylor, including that glamorous evening gown designed by her tailor, RONNIE HOWARD. Also included inthis issue is anarticle explaining how Iayne Mansfield's milkman, CLIFFORD HOOVER, received his substantial raise. We are honored to present to you an article written by that great ballet dancer, PATRICIA RYDSTROM. In her article, Patricia gives us an exciting account of her experiences in Europe while on a tour with the Russian Dance Troupe. Are you unemployed? If you are, here's a chance of a lifetime. MARY DELL EBERSOLE is advertising for an assistant to help her handle her booming business. She has made a small fortune selling clothes in a nudist camp. In our magazine only, will you find the inside story of the monkey's revolt against the organ grinder. A personal interview with CARY WALTON reveals ti, ,t his complaint against the organ grinder, CHARLES BIORK, and his trainer, IO ANN NEARY, is too much training and not enough peanuts. The Mounties Always Get Their Man is a true experience article written by KAREN BRAUNSCHWEIG. Karen has just been promoted to the position of lieutenant' of the Northwest Mounted Police. DENNIS ARNDT, a master in physical education, is the featured writer in our sports section. Dennis is assisted by Darrell Hazelhoff who just recently replaced DONNIE GROW. Donnie vacated his position of assistant to Dennis to accept the position of life guard at the Y.W,C.A. The magazine is financed wholly by its advertisersp such as PAUL FULLENWORTH who advertises his dancing school, fincidentally the week's special is the Rumbaj and IANET TANNER who runs the Nifty Thrifty Men's Clothing Store, in New York City. For all you cats who wrecked your rods, you can contact KEITH WILSON, who runs the Mercury junkyard, and also advertises in our magazine. Become a well informed individual. Subscribe to our magazine, True Love and Mush. You'f fever regret it! Sincerely yours , The Editors The Seniors, with the help of their director, Mr. Knott, chose their play, THE LITTLE MINISTER presented April 8, l960. When the little minister arrived, he heard that the weavers rose against starvation wages paid them by Lord Rintoul, led by a gypsy girl. I-le meets the gypsy and falls in love with her. She learns of the havoc she would create in his life if she marries him, and she promised to go out of the minister's life forever. EKSTAM, PHARMACIST -------- Drugs S nopsis The Lewis family are real farmers--not uneducated hillbillies. They have a son, Roy in college and two teenagers, Karen and Kelly, who keep things in an uproar at home. It is hard on the family finances to keep everybody fed and in clothes--another mouth to feed would about sink the ship--or the farm. Roy discovers a beautiful sixteen-year-old orphan, Diane, and decides to bring her home. Karen's boy friend loses interest in Karen and Roy's girl friend becomes terribly jealous. Kelly is the only one who likes the arrangement. Diane, meanwhile, has made a date to go to the rodeo with Karen' s beau leaving Karen date- less and about ready to blow a fuse. At this time a dark handsome stranger comes along and he doesn't have a date for the rodeo so Karen is glad Diane took the drip off her hands. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis decides they can juggle their finances and squeeze one more mouth into the family budget. Roy and his girl make up and everybody is happy--especially, Diane. --------Wallpaper--------School Supplies .- ii 12 21 Q a n Q T9 31 SOPHOMORE I 8 4- 'Q v ' S '17 6 5x98 fl' lp 'ILc Class Officers I Presldent . . . ........
