TIO BOARD MEMBERS - ' L. to R.: F. Boisecnu, L. Kuebler, H. Foster, Dr. Hayes, J.'M. McDonald, W. Bradley, E. O. Rogers. SUPERINTENDENTOF SCHOOLS Mr. J. MQ McDonald ' I f 4 Dear Seniorsg ' I ' ' When your editorlinformed me of the theme for this year's Log l was somewhat puzzled. However, on, reflection, the thought occurred that since Mar Vista's launching two years ago, we Marinershave been sailing on high seas of the time, the one year in the Navy Barracks at Brown Field and one year' on a half-day session at the Chula Vista High School plant. lt is a satisfaction to know that all Mariners have now landed at their port of call inlmperial Beach. You seniors have helped immeasurab-ly to the success of this landing. -We can look with pride to our Faculty members, our new buildings, its equipment, and-the high ideals and traditions which have been established. Your part in promoting these successes long will be remembered. ' - , .Alliof you will bef going forth into various avenues of activity, not knowing what is before you. Be not dismayed, foryou can have assured in the fact that you have gained something by experiences which your high school has afforded you. This will be of help to you in meeting other chal- lenges which will present themselves- ' y Although you will be leaving this port as a Senior, we do not wont you to forget us. Once a'Mariner, always a Mariner, we hope your interest in the growth of Mar Vista-will take on added significance. Your tie will be through your Alumni Association. Be active in it, as that activity helps to further this school. ' . We Wish you well in whatever you undertake, and we say good luck and thanks' for your association in the Student Body of your High School. . ' Cordially w - Principal r . - Robert' O. It has also given me the opportunity to meet many students of other schools. ,I extend my hand to Mr. Fredlund whose unceasing efforts have made this year a success. When there was something to be done, there was Mr. Fredlund spurring us on. I wish also to extend my other hand to the students of Mar Vista High School whose fine cooperation at assemblies and in activities has made this year, for me, a truly enjoyable one. I can only hope that my successor will have as enjoyable a year as I have had, and I know that your co- operation will be appreciated by him as much in the future as it has been appreciated by me in the past.
