NdMenben.2O December 20 to January 5 December 26-30 February March 27..n Calendar '42 Thanksgiving Holidays On the 21st the school klds vent to Antelope Valley for a horse back ride at dawn to see the sum rise on the desert and eat an enormous breakfast, It rose all right, but some of the Y1dS didn't Joan Arnold and Betty Cox gave a very nice tea for the benlor girls and the Faculty The French Club went to Tai: for a French dinner It wa grand .un There was no school because it was the last day before school w a s dlsmi s cd f o r Chr1stmas vacation There was a party instead, and the students exchanged glfts They were also cleverly entertained by the grade school The Christmas vacation week A group of Mar kBB1tGS spent the week and t Wrightwood lhere we plenty of snow, thrills and cold chllls, but we all d1dn't m 1 B l a moment of excltoment A new xdea was lntroduced by the Seniors They gave a tea for thelr parents so that sa1d parents could get acquainted with each other Thls week the hells of Mar-Ken fairly groaned in sympathy after llstening to the students' wa1l about their final exams Marjorie Lee Hugunin gave a shower in honor of our graduating Senior br1de, Shmrley Ann Chittenden That night the 5panish Club held its f1rst meeting to initiate 1tS members Mrs Rodriquez served a lovely Spanish dinner and entertainment followed This date marked the revival of NThe l3 Club U The place was turned rnto a night club complete with e C soft drink! bar A luncheon dance was g1ven by the Juniors for the whole school The Sophomores gave the1r Lower Basin Street Party Big event of the evenlng was the smnging of spirituals by Ruth Jones. The Senlor motlon plcture was presented to the en- t1re school today In between the four thrilling shows, hot dogs and other refreshments were served The formal dance given to the school each year by the Seniors.
