SOCIAL STUDIES Social Studies courses acquaint students with the world they live in. Freshmen learn study habits from films seen during the first semester. They must know and pass the Missouri State Constitution their second semester. Sophomores are taught of the history of the world from the beginning of man, his conquests and failures in the world he has built. Another class for seniors only is Public Speaking where proper presentation of various type of speeches are made up and delivered before the class. To be eligible to participate in the senior play, students must take Dramatics. In addition to the senior play, the class performs one act plays, skits, and excerpts from Shake- speare's plays. Regardless of the vocational field, it has always been necessary to be able to express thoughts and ideas to others. The English courses taken now will become an essential part of the future.
