Another class for seniors only is Public Speaking where proper presentation of various type of speeches are made up and delivered before the class. To be eligible to participate in the senior play, students must take Dramatics. In addition to the senior play, the class performs one act plays, skits, and excerpts from Shake- speare's plays. Regardless of the vocational field, it has always been necessary to be able to express thoughts and ideas to others. The English courses taken now will become an essential part of the future. OUR ENGLISH Three years of English are required for gradua- tion. Grammatical fundamentals are taught to fresh- men, while sophomore English students read Julius Caesar and Silas Marner. Composing themes, giving oral book reviews, and using the dictionary are in- cluded in the juniors' study of English. College bound students take Senior English with its research papers, critical comments and pop quizes as part of their prep- aration. Seniors may take English seven and eight for a further study of grammar.
