i l 'l'l U7 1 Thirty may not mean much to you but to a nevs spaper man rt means the end of a story As senrors we are actually writing 30 to end our edu catronal careers at M R H Some of us will go on to college but rt in ont be quite the same as going to high school Others of us vsrll never go to school again for tlrrs group leavrrrg rs even more final We have been saying all year that vse wrll come back to vrsrt our Alma Matti fr equentlv after vue graduate but rn our hearts we know that our vrsrts urll grow more and more infrequent as vse separate ourselves from our lrrgh school past lt seems a brt tr agrc to take such an attitude but rn reality we will never leave hrglr school The tlrrngs vse have learned here especially vs hat vue didnt learn from text books vxrll never lcrve us This Annual will be a small part of the group of memorres vxhrch vsrll return to us rn the distant future Another observation about the word thirty rs that the release of this book marks the Thrrtreth Publrcatron of the Maple Leaves the first volume havrng been published rn 1924 The Annual has grown rn many ways srnce that first publrcatron as you can see from the prcture of several pre vrous Annuals but more rmpor tant our school has grown Could you rmagrne spending your hrgh school days anywhere else besides here'7 Look at the prcture of the Junror Hrgh Burldrng and consider how many classes must have graduated from there. Think how proud the graduating class of 1931 must have been-to be the first class to graduate from the new Senior High Building! And did you know that there was no east wing on the building at all until the mid-1930 s? Another of the pictures seen here is a copy of the original architect s drawing of the High School as it would look when finished. Above this sketch made in 1930 crn be seen the High School as it actually looks today. The school has grown in other ways too-some may remember when the lost art of walking vsasrrt lost -when we had no school busses to pick us up rrrd take us home. Near' the picture of the busses is illustrated three goals to be achieved, which were established in 1941.
