With this an- nouncement, the president, Lawrence Peck, calls his group before him. As the meeting begins, the vice-president, Dolores Pritchett, talks over the quality of a recently purchased senior ring with secretary Barbara Davis while the treasurer, Arthur Martin, tries wearily to balance the senior class budget. Members of the committee, Pearl Boggs, Iackie Davis, Lois Burke, George Bishop, George Finger, and Douglas LeBesche are discussing the problems ot graduation with their sponsor, Mr. Vossbrink. This body, the nucleus of senior activities, decides on the senior ring, the arrangements for the senior dance, special programs, and graduation de- tails. Also, any difficulties within the senior class are quickly referred to this committee which capably regulates school lite from a student perspective. naw. A heavy, fastfcharging line coupled with a smooth, if somewhat inexperienced, baclcfield was responsible for the Leafs success. Great things had been expected of the 38 eleven and in most cases the team came through- but defeat at the hands of Cleveland U. City and C. B. C. srnashed all hopes for a perfe t season. The losses were probably caused by a lack of precision. Bob Cwronq wayl Reed, Whitey Bauer, Gerald Farrar, Harry Vilhitworzh, and Harold Gracey are only a few of these prospects. The record of four qannes won and two lost, while not so qood as that of some other recent B tearns, shows thar the lunior Leafs played winning foot- ball. The irriportant acconiplishrnent of the season, however, was the def veloprnent of a nurnber of excellent prospects to help fill created on the varsity by graduation. Because of the large squad of 65 boys who remained on the lunior track roster throughout the season, the outlook is bright for the Blue and White tracksters for the next few years. Although many of the boys were inexperienced, the team, as a whole, came through in fine style. An early season victory over Central was one of the highlights of the past campaign. lt was through the efforts of the Iuniors that Maplewood won this combined Iunior-Senior conflict. Who are the pranksters of the school? They are none other than the members of the M Club, Maplewood's honorary athletic organiza- tion. The chief function ot this club, which was organized in l934-35 and has been sponsored this year by Coaches Douglas and Rath, is to promote coopera- tion in sports and friendliness among the school athletes. To attain this, the club sponsors a Varsity-Faculty Basketball garne and a Football Dance annually. A banquet given for the Basketball team has been added this year to the activities of the club. Keeping this in mind, Mr. Dubry has organized a dramatics club to give pupils an opportunity to develop their histrionic ability. One may hear Barbara Davis saying, You mean there's no hope for me at all? But there was really great hope for her, because through her role in Stage Door she proved her ability along with many others who turned in a grand performance.
