Principal Mr. William Paul Guappone became the new principal of Mapletown Junior-Senior High School in the school year 1974-1975. He attended All Saints Parochial School in Masontown, Penn- sylvania and then furthered his educa- tion at Waynesburg College from which he graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. He was a student teacher at Mapletown High School under the direction of Mrs. Erma Miller. Upon graduation from college, he acquired a teaching position at Mapletown and served nine years in that position. In 1971 he acquired a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from West Virginia University. William Paul Guappone Besides all the duties and responsibilities Mr. Guap- pone had to perform, he also found time to relax and par- ticipate in school functions. These photos show Mr. Guap- pone and Mr. Grove and some students examining the new school car which is used for driver's education. Also, Mr. Guappone is being singled out by one of the Arkansas Lassies and perhaps she was trying to persuade him to par- ticipate in the game. The last photo shows him looking over the prizes that were awarded to the Middle School students for selling magazines during their magazine campaign.
