Lock H7 located onthe Monongahela River at Greensboro is operated by the Federal Government administrators of Interstate Commerce and inland waterways Constructed to make the river more navugable this lock and others like it make possible the smooth movement of traff1c up and down the river Our administration, the school board the prxnclpal and the teachers in a simxlar manner make possible our progress and growth through education leadership and gtudance X At the Duquesne Light Company tipple located on the Monongahela River at Greensboro many barges are loaded with coal daxly This coal is then taken from here to many other places and put to work tn various ways Durzng thetr six years at Mapletown the students are likewise filled wtth mformation and knowledge Upon their departure as seniors they go out to many places Ill the world where their individual talents are utiltzed in many d1fferent undertakings Boating is only one of the many recreational activities wh1ch can be enjoyed on the Monongahela River Others may find more enloyment 1n water skiing or swtmmlng Stmllarly many extracurncular acuvines may b enjoyed at Mapletown Those interested in athletics may paructpate tn foot ball basketball wrestling or baseball.
