The Mounties showed great improvement over last year's team in accuracy and speed. The Varsity Mounties were headed by seniors Dave Brockway, Fred Longsdorf, Jim Stuart, and Tim Hickey. Leadership on the Hoor fell into the hands of these four boys, plus junior Nick Claypool. This same capable ball handling will take skill and practice by uncoming Varsity players. In individual playing, seniors Fred Longsdorf, Dave Brock- way, and Jim Stuart made the Firelands Conference team while Coach Honeycutt was selected coach of the year. Longsdorf was also chosen as a member of the All-Area team. Losing most of their starting team, the Mounties will have to rebuild next year. However, Coach Honeycutt feels that Mapleton, with practice and determination, can once again- produce a winning Firelands Conference team.
