Exchange Students Ines Hands from Venezuela It rakes a wise girl ro discover hoppi- ness Yumiko Maejima from Japan Once a friend, always a friend Detng on exchange student is one of rhe most wonderful things thot has happened to me When you go to a country as a tourist, you con'f see how rhe country really s That hoppened ro me; I came before to the U S. bur then, I never hod contact with rhe dtizens. I didn't learn obour how rhe life is here I'm going ro ten you something thot maybe you would not like It's the opinion thot the rest of the world towards Americans, they rhrik thot all Americans ore nor friendly and rhor they don'r care about anybody else but themselves After five months here, I realized that oB those facts are nor rrue. First school day was so hard, because I could nor understand my dosses. Out I could know a lor of friends ond reachers. I know they ore really friendly, nice ond great 111 could nor sroy here without these people. I'm so happy ro come here as an exchange student. I could enjoy a lor of new things. For example, we don'r have dances, football games, homecoming at school. (Sliding on rhe snow, gang ro school without uniform, etc.) Everything is wonderful memories for me. I will miss all of my American life. I'd like ro thank you very much for everything you've done ro make my stay here pleosanr ond comforrable. I live in Miro-Gry, northeast of Tokyo in Japan.
