Teachers Strike . . . Mr. Steve MacDonald teaches Biology, and Life Science. Among his various school activities he coaches wrestling and football. He takes time to involve himself in dog shows, photography and sports. Mr. Robert Kosztowny teaches Geometry, Physics, Astronomy, and Algebra. He involves himself, behind the scenes, in the Junior Play and high school Quiz Bowl. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, reading, and growing plants. Mrs. Lucy Martin teaches Grammar B, Research Paper, Speech, Grammar and Composition, Communications and Developmental Reading. Mrs. Martin is the Senior class sponsor. She also serves on an administration board. She is an excessive reader. Miss Marianne Martin teaches Introduction to Art, Ceramics, Sculpture, Advanced Art, Commercial Art, 7th grade Art, and Drawing and Painting. In her leftover time, which she has little of, she enjoys sewing and photogra£h Miss Jackie Peek teaches Physical Education. She also coaches Varsity Girl’s basketball and softball, and advises the girls’ Varsity Club. Among her many outside hobbies she enjoys sewing, knitting, and writing. Mr. Russ Koons teaches Science, and Oceanography. He is the Senior class advisor. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Mr. Bill Kipp teaches Metal Shop. He is also the Junior class advisor. He occupies his spare time by fishing, and home remodeling. Mr. Guenther Mittelstaedt teaches 7th grade geography. He involves himself in several school activities which include being a J.V. football assistant, Freshman basketball, and J.V. girl’s softball. 16 Faculty

To Better Education Mr. Tom Gibbons teaches Wood Working and Jr. High Shop. He is the Freshman class sponsor. His spare time activities include fishing, canoeing, and gardening. Mr. Greg Hoefler teaches 7th grade math, and General Math. He also coaches Varsity baseball. His hobbies encompass carpentry work and woodworking. Mr. Chuck Gilmore teaches Jr. High science and chemistry. He coaches girl’s and boy’s basketball and track. He enjoys sports. Mr. John Hughes teaches Government, World History, Economics, Sociology, and Current Events. He enjoys golf and fishing. Mrs. Green is an elementary and Junior high counselor. She enjoys bowling, swimming, and playing the organ. Mrs. Junia Jarvie’s many and varied school activities include Home Economics and Child Care. Mr. Keith Greenwald teaches Vocational Agriculture 1,2, 3, and 4, and a cooperative training program. He is also the head of the F.F.A. Mr. Greenwald’s extra curricular activities include hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Mel Kivela teaches Building Trades. . . . Out for Originality Mrs. Pat Reinbold directs elementary vocal music at Maplewood, Fuller, and Kellogg, and also conducts the M.V. choir. She involves herself in concerts, assists in musicals and directs the Valley Aires. Mr. Jerry Reese is co-advisor of the Boys Varsity Club, J.V. Girl's Basketball, and Varsity Boys Basketball and teaches seventh grade science. His spare time is spent golfing and thinking of things to keep me from doing remodeling jobs around the house. Mr. Gary St. Onge teaches General Business and Accounting. He also takes a tremendous amount of pleasure in fishing, and camping during his off hours. Mr. Ward Rooks is one of our pragmatic M.V. counselors. He is also the Freshman class sponsor. In his spare time he enjoys horses, following the Detroit Tigers, music, and reading. Mr. Mel Ruohonen teaches history, and physical education. He also coaches football, basketball, track, and night school. In his spare time he involves himself in a church council, and bowling. Mrs. Carol Ripple teaches 7th grade English. Her school activities include coaching 7th grade girl’s basketball. Outside hobbies involve reading, working with plants in her garden, and going to Western Michigan University. Mr. Ron Rosin teaches 8th grade English. A few of his many hobbies include gardening, woodcutting, hunting, golf, bowling, jogging, and bridge. Mr. Chris Ricketts teaches U.S. History, Current Events, and Minority Groups. His school activities include coaching wrestling. He enjoys sports, reading, and travel. Faculty 17
