Field Ho key T W5 Mu 'Mya fi' V . l Fighting for the ball, Karen McCoog is determined to get it from the other team. Special Skill Maple Shade's field hockey team is truly a special one. Starting w the team's skilled defense, Bernadette Kisielewski and Sandy Lloyd a two great goalies. They save many games with their wonderful blocl Outside the goal is the defense. Cindy Hess, Kim Hirsh and Sue Duffy a all senior defense players with loads of talent. When the hockey ball is by our defense, it's being taken down the field by the offense. lvl McGovern is the only senior on the offense line. Our team's effort ting is rewarded in a 2-O shut-out over Riverside. The two goals were scor first by sophomore Michelle Dickman and second by freshman Dax Ferrell. The entire team played a wonderful game that day. Coacl' Terry Knowles and Diana Barbachio teach everyone on the team wi Even when they don't win a game, the field hockey team is on tor . - .V . Girl Ba ketball Ready to make a pass, Kristen Martino- vich tries to avoid the opposing player, The Best Record! The Lady Wildcats played heads-up basketball. They had a tenacious defense. They crashed the boards, and went to the hoop leaving them with a 16 and 6 record. Three dominant players were senior captains, Kristin Martinovich, Sheila Hutchins, and sophomore Debbi Pearson. With the help of seniors Dawn Ruff, Anita McCann, Bernedette Kisielewski, and juniors Jeanne Keefer, and Debbie Snyder, the wildcats have a good chance of winning the Group 1 championship. Although there were out- standing players, no one player could do it alone. Since the varsity team was small, many l.V. players were called upon, and they always gave 1OO0f A major highlight of the WiIdcat's season was beating Moorestown in a match-up at the Spectrum. Another thing all the players will remember is when they walked into the Burlington Township gym and saw a sign that asked, 'lMaple Who?l They left a lasting impression in the gym that evening and at every gym they played in from then on. No one ever questioned who, they definitely knew it was Maple Shade, That game, Kristin Martinovich, 333, had her career high of 33 points. Over all, they had a winning season. No other girls in the history of Maple Shade has had a better record than the Lady Wildcats of 1987-88 Thinking quickly on her feet, Sheila Hutchins dodges her opponents. 132!Girl's Basketball oribbiing down the mari titi c Nancy is an efficient piayefffff ...K .i.i 3 by Scanning the court for someone in the open is Bernadette Kisielewski.
