He looks full of grace, Energetic Soccer! The 87-88 Maple Shade soccer team was looking forward to one of its best seasons in school histc With returning starters led by capt. Dan lucket Grd team All'5outh lersery last yeari, the Cats w hoping to qualify for the state tournament. The offense was led by Keith Lightner, with Q8 goalsi, and fthe Penalty Shotmasterl Kyu Chong Q had 6. Three players: leff Snyder, Joe Petrichco and Frank McHale scored their first varsity goals this yi Adding to the offense were the likes of John Gee, Claudio Torres, Scott Eustace and Kurt Weistl scored at least 1 goal this year. On defense loe Wrigley did an excellent job filling in for an injured Dan lucket. He also turned throwing into a scoring opportunity. Dennis Klein was versatile enough to play at left back and stil in a few goals playing wing. Steve Orimsby and Craig Schaal, the teams two hardest working I ' y had fine seasons, as well as Gary Murphy, Frank McHale, jamie Ventura and Rich Karcher, who all time in the backfield, A special note goes to goal tender leff Frett who turned in many fine perforr in his first varsity season. With as many as 11 starters, plus help from Chris Orimsby, Mark Furphy, Dan Schaal and Heuber, all of whom played lV, Coach Cladek should have another promising season to' ' ' . Q T Victorious again! The performance of the Maple Shade girl's soccer team can k described in one word. That word is victorious. They played a grey season and came out on top. They worked their way up to tl playoff games in November against the best in the league. With lv Lupini as coach, the team climbed over the rest. The varsity teaml the youngest in all of South lersey, but they worked to prove 1 ability. The forward line consisted mostly of Sophomores and goal tender is even younger. The team relied on its Seniors to 11 theirgexperience with newcomers. The Maple Shade girl's so : team is a great example of winning teamwork.
