New techniques add variety to this year's cheers. A summer of hard work and prac- tice prepared the varsity and iunior varsity cheerleaders for the sports year of l969-70. Creativity was the motto as a variety ot new cheers and chants were added to their reportoire. With the assistance of Pep Club, the girls let the Maple teams know that they were behind them l0OWo. Most students do not realize the amount ot effort that the cheer- leaders put into their work. Week- days after school they can be seen practicing in the recreation room. They must think up new cheers as the season progresses to keep the fans interested in cheering. The cheer- leaders are called upon to psyche up the student body at the numerous pep assemblies.
