Coached by Mr. R. Smith, the junior high had a very successful season this year. The only loss was to Patina Schaff, 20-O. The little mustangs beat Bedford and Garfield, our arch rivals by scores of 7-6 and I3-O, respectively. These freshmen are very enthusiastic about their team. Practicing long hours in all kinds of weather gives the boys the kind of training they need to become good football players. A sense of fair play and cooperation is instilled in them in order to prepare them for the varsity team in fu- ture years. He's got the ball. Get 'im! 20

Varsity Football Can you imagine picking yourself up out of the football held sod and mud every week to Hnd that, after all the punishment you have taken for four quarters, your team has lost again? This certainly is dis- heartening, but the Maple Heights Junior Varsity football team kept coming back each game trying to grind out a victory. I know that Coaches Smith and Knoll never gave up hope for the team. VVC hope that more of the student body will get out of the J-V games and encourage these boys. Remember, these boys are the backbone of next year's varsity team. Corsaro C26D, rushing Bedford's quarterback. 'av .1
