Frank Mestmk on the seventh play of the game ran 79 yards for the first touchdown and later ran two more over for a total of I8 points. This was one of the ew games that quarterback Frank Mecone tried any passing and late in the third quarter connected with captain Dean Hldo from the 34th yard llne for a T.D. In spite ofa muddy field the following week, Maple Heights defeated last year's G.C.C. champion Berea High School I9 to O. The first Maple score came when George Menges pounced on a Berea fumble in the end zone. Mestnik followed with two more Touchdowns ln the second and third periods Two touchdowns in the first half started the Mustangs romp ang over the Brush Arcs 33 to 0 on their field Brush started the ball game on the wrong foot as they fumbled the opening kick off which resulted in Mestmk scamperlng over for a T D six plays later He scored a second T D in the third period Chuck Sykora tallied twice ln the second and third quarters, and Mecone s pass to Hldo from the I9 yard line accounted for the final score The 20 to 6 victory over Garfield wall long be remembered by the capacity crowd that fllled Garfield s stadium The u dogs used every track in the book Including a spot pass on a kickoff but It wasn t enough to stop the aggressive Mustangs Mestmk tallied In the first half with Mecone adding the clmch er In the last quarter. Bedford managed to hold Frank Mestnik scoreless but couldn't stop three of his running mates, and Maple Heights became the undisputed Greater Cleveland Conference Cham pions with five straight league victories. Chuck Sykora scored the first two touchdowns with Frank Mecone and Steve Tobik boosting the score to 26. Bedford failed to score. The choir is composed of Juniors and Seniors who have suc- cessfully completed work in ninth and tenth grade choruses and passed vocal, solo work, sight-read- ing and quartet tests. An executive board, chosen by the choir, helps to take care of any problems that might arise. Everyone in choir strives to make it the best singing group in the school.
