ACTIVITIES OF 1951 - 52 We, the Seniors of Maple City High in the year of '52 dedicate this annual, the Maple Leaf, to the Board of Educa- tion of the Centerville Township School District. 1951 February--In this month, the Maple City Panthers received the W. L. T. Conference Trophy from the President of the Conference during the last game at Fife Lake. September--During the first few weeks of school the freshman were welcomed to High School by an (initiation) Party. October--Welcoming this fall month, the students of the Centerville Twp. School Unit gave an annual Harvest Carnival. November--The Juniors presented a three act Comedy named Funny Brats. This month also officially opened the Basket- ball season with the Seniors selling candy, pop and popcorn at the home games. Also another feature of this month was the beginning of Mr. Glovers Glee Club and Band Practice. December-- Magi’s Gift was an operetta presented by the Seventh and Eighth Graders under the direction of Mr. Clover and Marie Knoth. 1952 March--The boys attended the 16th annual John Deere Day. Mr. Simon returned with $15 for our recreational activities. April--The Juniors gave a Prom for the Seniors, April 25. May--The Senior Play Dizzy and Daffy was presented May 2. The Senior trip, one of the brightest spots of the Senior year, was taken during the first weeks of May. The class went to Niagara Falls, via, Canada. The week of May 25 -28 was our Graduation Week. Sunday, May 25, was Bac- cularette Services. The Commencement Exercises were held Wednesday May 28, 1952, closing out the Seniors last year of School.
