VALEDICTORIAN Parents, Faculty, Fellow Students and Friends: We, the members of the class of 52, have just completed 12 years of more or less diligent study in an effort to refine and cultivate our minds. It is chiefly through your assistance and untiring efforts that makes this memorable day possible. Now that we attained this goal we as individuals must strive to attain new goals. Having reached this achievement we must enter on a ne wpath in the road of life. Some of us will enter higher institutions of learning, others will start business or pro- fessional careers, some will be called upon to serve our country, while still others will be homemakers. Undoubtedly a few will rise in prominence while others will remain ob- scure, but whether prominent or boscure we will never forget our school or school days, and especially this last day. The events of this day, our teachers, and our friends, it will be these old friends we will cherish longest. We are now about to leave this school which has been so instrumental in shaping our lives. At present, we do not realize what we have gained by our associations together, not only in the appreciation of educational values, but also in the friends we have made, and the good times we have had together. As we grow older and look back upon our high school acquaintances and our experiences, I think we shall more fully appreciate what they have done for us, and more fully understand what they meant to us. In years to come these experiences will be our choicest memories even though we may choose to be many miles away from Maple City High. The time has come when we must go into our separate walks of life, so we take this opportunity as a class and as individuals, to give to our parents, teachers, and friends our sincerest thanks and appreciation for the kindness and help bestowed upon us in our High School career.
