Class History-Class of 1951 Lorraine Shupiery, the mighty mite o the class went THROUGH THE FIRST EIGHT GRADES AT EAST KASSON. Her TEACH- ERS WERE NELLIE TOBIN, MAMIE AND MILLI CENT SHIMEK, BEN LAMIE, MARGARET BAATZ AND LORETTA LAUTNER. WANDA BRIGHT ALSO HAD THE SAME INSTRUCTORS. IN HER FRESHMAN YEAR LORR- AINE ATTENDED TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL, SOPHOMORE YEAR AT LELAND AND FINISHED AT MAPLE CITY. WANDA ATTENDED THE SAME SCHOOLS. PEPER SCHETTEK ATTENDED SCHOOL K-2 AT CEDAR, 3-4 AT Isidore 5-7 at cedar, 8-10 at Isicore and 11 12 at maple City. Peter was a star guard on the basketball team under Coach jack Rader. Cedar teachers were miss Priester, Betty PETROSKEY AND MA8EL SHUMSKI. Harold Thompson attended Round Top under rose Shupiery, MARGARET TOBIN AND MAMIE SHIMEK. AT CEDAR HE FINISHEO HIS CAREER GOING TO LELAND IN HIS FRESHMAN YEAR. HAROLD WAS President of the Class at Maple City in both the junior and Senior Years. He teamed up with Pete as one of the star guards of the Panthers. (Buster) Earl Moss went to Kasson Center for his grade EDUCATION MOSTLY UNDER THE TUTORSHIP OF ALMA COLEMAN. In THE NINTH GRADE BUSTER WENT TO LELAND WHERE HE TRANSFERRED to the Centerville Consolidated School at maple City. Bus- ter LIKES BASKETBALL, SHOP AND FARMING. HE IS A PROFESS- IONAL painter. Uncle Sam is looking toward the boys for a POSSIBLE TEAM OF SERVICE IN THE ARMED FORCES. Isabelle Nowak attended Lake Leelanau until the third grade, Maple City grades to the seventh, eight and ninth at Leland, and 10-12 at M.C.H.s. Her Teachers were at maple City: Mrs. McLean, Mrs. Deake and Jack Rader. Issy is her nickname and her favorite sport is dancing. The three girls ALL MAJORED IN COMMERCIAL AND ARE READY TO RUN SOMEBODY'S OFFICE WELL. The Junior Class Play under the direction of Eloise Simon was, Could Be and it was said my many that this play WAS THE BEST PRESENTED IN MANY YEARS, IT WAS ASS ISTED BY TWO Seniors, John Wheat and Donald Stormer. The Senior's Play this year was Mama's Baby Boy which BY ITS NAME WAS VERY INTERESTING.
