D New Auto Mechanics Class Helps Train Future Flat-Fixers Automotive Mechanics at Manzano High is de- signed to prepare the first year student with the basics of automotive theory, vocational possibili- ties, consumer knowledge, in automotive products and service and minor repair of the automobile. The second year students will practice in major overhaul of engine components, electrical systems, power transmission systems, steering and suspen- sion systems and practice in engine and electrical diagnosis. A course in light aviation engines is hoped to be added in the future. Through hard work over the past year and sum- mer, Manzano now has a new Auto Mechanics building located on the south side of the gym, in- cluding a new engine diagnostic center, brake sys- tem center, starting and changing diagnostic center, engine brake overhaul equipment and more.
