QE N SQ Experiments Let Students Experience for Themselves The Science Department introduces its concepts by letting the students experiement individually and in small groups in the classroom so that they can experience the concepts firsthand and hopefully, understand them better. Most of Manzano's science courses are designed for college-bound students and for those planning to continue in the field. The courses ask for all stu- dents to participate in the excitement of discovery and to recognize the power as well as the limitations of the scientific methods. 'l . Science is really fun when individuals experiment and experience things by themselves as Kenny Still, Bruce Purdy and Tim Pitts exhibit in this picture. Look at that grin. K... N F . -1 - Fine Arts Department Gets Beautiful, New Music Complex I enjoy the new music building being separated from the rest of the school. It's soundproof. No noise. We can really work, says Mrs. Wade, chorus teacher, about the new music complex at the south side of the school. The new building has many soundproof practice rooms of all sizes and purposes. A student can now practice individually or in sectionals from chorus, band and orchestra. Mr. Ed Wolfe has started as the new band teacher at Manzano this year, with a heavy schedule right off.
