Outstanding Monarchs Debbie is in the Math and Computing Science Club here at Manzano, also the Honor Society. Last summer, Debbie took a UNM Chemistry Laboratory Researcher course, helping her explore deeper into the field she wishes to go into-Chemistry Engineering. Debbie is a Debbie I' S Kathy was foreign exchange student the first semester of this year in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, and has housed two foreign exchange students who have come to Man- zano from Brazil. In her sophomore year, Kathy was Sophomore Class Vice President and went on to junior Class President. She has been in Spanish Club,Chicano Club, and Spanish Honor Society since her sophomore year and became a member of the Honor Society at the end of last year. Kathy loves to camp, ride bikes, sew, cook, and dance. I love music of all kinds, said Kathy, so she is very pleased over the part she got in the musical- West Side Story. Kathy plans to go on to college and study Spanish and Psychology and perhaps study abroad again. Radio Explorer, likes to play tennis, swim, ice skate and play the accordian tat which she is very goodl. A5 tt if' -' M. Wynn' Tracy Green . .,.xxL.,k o r S A member of the Honor Society, Steve has been both Secretary-Treasurer and Vice President of the German Club his junior and Senior years. He is also a member of the French Club, Staters' Club and is a math tutor. Steve participates in Young Life and enjoys skiing, playing golf, the piano and the trumpet. He enjoys learning about languages and corresponds with fifteen European families. As far as future plans go, Steve wants to study at Washington University for undergraduate education, then study at Harvard for graduate work. I would like to get a PHD in Economics, a CPA in accounting, a Law Degree, with a Corporation of International Law as my final goal. I1 Tremendously involved and supportive of Manzano, Tracy Green has been in Student Council since her sophomore year as President of her class, Student Senate for two years, her junior year as 'Student body Vice Presi- dent and her senior year as President. She was on the Phaethon staff, in Honor Society, Staters' Club and Span- ish Club. Tracy was particularly honored this year by re- ceiving a Salute to Albuquerque Teenagers in the journal. Tracy went to District Student Council three years and attended the State Student Council Workshop and the Convention two years. She likes to embroider, read, ride bikes, grow plants, walk, swim, macrame, dance and eat. She hopes to become a lawyer. i 5 i 2 257

T S Danelle was active in the National Honor Society here at Manzano and also the Spanish Honor Society. As a member of Spanish Club she participated in many of that club's activities. She is secretary-treasurer of band and plays in the orchestra. Danelle is vice-president of Youth Symphony, attended New Mexico All-State clinic and is active with Albuquerque Civic Light Opera. She enjoys reading, playing piano, bike riding, composing, stamp collecting and swimming. For the future, Danelle wants to go into music education and from there into psy- chology, especially some kind of therapy for children. President of the Honor Society, joseph has been in the Spanish Club since he was a sophomore and in Spanish Honor Society since his junior year. He has also partici- pated in Speech Tournaments. joseph likes skiing, fish- ing, hunting, painting, and hiking. As far as community work goes, he ushers at St. Bernadette's and worked at the Health and Social Services. joseph was honored this year, being featured in the Iournal's 'Salute to Albuquer- que Teenagers'. His skill of leadership has definately been developed in his high school years. Honor Society was run very smoothly this year, which, if you've ever been in Honor Society, you'll know is quite a chore. joseph plans to attend UNM and hopes to major in en- gineering.
