GMI Skybird, make your sail, and every heart will know of the tale, and head for the farthest shore. . . With twelve beautiful girls picked by the seniors, Manzano's Homecoming celebration kept all in suspense untilthe last moment. To the theme of Neil Diamond's Skybird , the gym was decorated with a very diligently worked upon backdrop picturing balloons and clouds on a field of blue, with a mirror ball catching in its many dazzling lights, reflections of beauty radiating from our girls. So it was that Cindy Griggers was crowned Manzano's 1974 Homecoming Queen, with her princesses Mona Archibeque and Cindy Barchus.
