Outstanding Monarchs.. . A varsity letterman in both football and baseball, Dave was the President of the M Club this year which has be- come a much more active and alive club. He is also a member of the Honor Society, Student Council, and.the German Club. Dave was particularly honored this year by receiving the West Point Outstanding Leadership Award and was chosen Rotary Club 'Student' of the Month.' Dave works construction during the summer but likes playing the drums, hunting, fishing, riding motocycles, and working on cars also. Dave plans to continue on through college and hopefully go on to medical school, a pre-med major in college. Right now Dave is trying for the Air Force ROTC Scholarship. Good Luck, Dave. S e S Dinah was very involved in Manzano with two years on the Girls' Tennis Team, three years in the Spanish Club tone as secretaryl, two years in Spanish Honor Society las treasurer and presidentl, Honor Society, two years on Student Council and a delegate to Girls' State, followed by a year of Staters Club on her record of supporting Manzano and its people. Aside from all these activities, Dinah represented Manzano at the State Department of Education's Advisory Committee, goes to Young Life,is an emergency room volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital, a member of the Tennis Club of Albuquerque Team, and part of a Youth Group at Central Methodist Church. She plans to go into Biomedical Engineering at UNM.

'L Interested in government and humanities, Theresa is in Student Council, the Curriculum Committee, and is junior Class Senator in Student Senate. I plan to go to college and study Humanities. I'll major in Humanities and minor in Ethnic Studies and Spanish, said Theresa about her plans for the future. She is also in a church group, has a part time job and takes dancing lessons, which may have been instrumental in getting her the dancing part she had in West Side Story this year. l like to read and dance. . .and just have a good time, said Theresa. jay was Student Body Vice President this year,ypre- ceeded by Sophomore Class President, two years in Stu- dent Council and Student Senate. Only a junior, he was a candidate for the West Point Leadership Award. jay is a member of the Tennis Team and French Club, also tennis is one of his favorite pasttimes, along with back- packing, bike riding, macrame, swimming, and eating. i lay went to State and District Student council, Student Council Workshop, and was a Youth and Government City Councilman. lay is there at every school activity, constantly supportive of Manzano. He hopes to go into Chemical Engineering in the future.

NCTE Award Winner, Paul also came in 15th in the New Mexico State Math contest, attended the Student Coun- cil Summer Workshop, is involved with YMCA Youth and Government, and tutors. Paul has been very involved in Manzano activities, such as ,French Club, German Club, Math Club tof which he is Presidentj, Student Council, Student Senate, the Phaethon Staff, Honor Society, and Staters. I plan on attending UNM to major in medicine or some related field and minor in mathematics. I am hoping to be ablefto work in the Grand Tetons, said Paul. Aside from all the intellect, Paul likes to collect coins, build models and ships, calligraphy, hike, play tennis, and archery. S Queen Cindy, as many have called her, has been active in both concert and modern choir. She has performed in Godspell and West Side Story, the musicals presented by drama and chorus. Cindy was editor of the Phaethon and worked on the yearbook staff. She was also active in the Drama Club and secretary of the Thespians. A member of Honor Society and Homecoming Queen for 1974, Cindy is active in Young Life and took jazz and gymnastics. When she isn't working at Soda Straw, she enjoys playing piano, singing, hiking, skiing - both water and snow-even though she is a beginner, tennis and plants. For the fu- ture, Cindy plans to go to college at UNM and maybe major in music. She hopes to work at a ranch this sum- mer.
