Cutstanding Monarchs... Have you ever heard the beautiful voice of La Chi- canita? Well, if you have, you'll know what talent lies in Manzano's own, Debbie Martinez. A member of the Spanish and Chicano Clubs, Debbie still has plenty of time for music. I have been singing since I was 12 years old, said Debbie. I sing Spanish music and have two albums out and about 20 singles. I have participated in many assemblies at Manzano and other Albuquerque high schools. Besides such a tremendous voice, Debbie plays the guitar, bass, vihuela, and piano. She likes to swim, horseback ride, camp and just about anything outdoors. I plan to continue my singing career and go to college in Mexico or the US after graduation, said Debbie. Martinez Anyone.who has attended any of Manzano's basket- ball games all season or just read about them in the paper had heard a great deal about Alan Zahn. He is a tremen- dously talented basketball player. He was also involved with track. Aside from basketball being one of Alan's greatest talents, it is also one of his most enjoyed past- times. During the summer he plays on a summer league basketball team. I plan to go to college and study Phys- ical Education, said Alan.
