Starting off their fund-raising activities this year, Drill Team sold bubble gum until they were sold out, and then candy canes before Christmas, so they are responsible for any cavities made during October and November! Drill Team also sponsors several dances throughout the year. Under the sponsorship of Miss Simms again this year, Drill Team spends a great amount of after school hours getting-it together within themselves and with the band. Miss Simms is really hard on us, but she keeps us to- gether. Without her, we COULDN'T do it, said Deanna France, a member of Manzano's Drill Team. With President Melinda Carrillo and Vice President Renee Adent and Tammy Carter, Drill Team has become very important in many of the girls' lives. Drill Team is important to me because l believe in Manzano and its people and through Drill Team, I can do something to help support it, said Deanna. 1 lanet Walton, jerine Hogg, Liz Tawney, Anita Ashcraft, Susan Trembly. 2 tFront to Backl Kristi Graves, Ceil Dickson, loyce Ortiz, Tammy Carter. 3 Peggy Olsen: Ceil Dickson, mascot, Miss Simms, sponsor. 4 tFirst Rowl Robin Sheldahl, Karen Williams. iSecond Rowl Cheryl Keeny, Melinda Carrillo, Peggy Kyger. 167

U Drill Team's Enthusiasm Helps Boost School Spirit Manzano's Drill Team has helped tremendously in pro- moting school spirit this year with enthusiasm for all school activities. Drill Team provided halftime entertain- ment at all football and basketball games throughout the seasons. The membership has increased by more than half from what it was last year. Drill Team originally was the Pep Club, and then it became a combination of both. Now Drill Team has gained enough support in member- ship and enthusiasm that it has become a club on its own. M Club Holds Pep Rall We're going to try to do things that will designate us as THE M Club this year, said Dave Flemming, M Club President earlier, and throughout the year, their wishes have come true. M Club has beenactively involved with the student body this year and in practically every event, Bonfire lnspite of Rain sometimes with an over-abundance of enthusiasm and spirit but always involved and always enthused. As far as their female membership goes, Dave said, We decided last year that it would be best for our club to be all male for the things that we are trying to accomplish. 1' 'H' l STORT CLUB ooo 1. lFirst Rowj Gordon Postenrieoer, Tony Griego, Rick Sitch, jeff Saavedra, Skip Dobson, Eric Disch tSecond Rowl Ben Shultz, Steve Brigante, Mark Leonard, Ron Disch, Richard Hallam, Gary Segura tThird Rowl Scott Chafins, Phil Rivera, Bob Lee, Dave Sitch, Randy Lockwood, Bill Marshall, Mike Newsom, Gary Hines tFourth Rowi Dave Longley, Joe Costales, lim Sch- losser, Dave Fleming, Randy Costales, jim Braden, Randy Brighance CFifth Row!
