i 'l-J T 5 First Year Girls sing Boys Rules The 1974-75 season was a season of firsts for Manzanos Girls Basket- ball team. It was their first year of inter- scholastic competition, their first year to play using boys rules, and the first time they ve had a winnin season. Manzano's Girls' Volleyball team got off to a good start this year with 23 enthusiastic girls ready for a big season. The team finished the 1974 season with a fine record of twelve wins and four loses- the most successful season ever for the Monarch's eight seniors. Terry Condon, Mari- anne Evans, Sherron Hirdman, Karen Boardman, Diana Hers- chberger, Nadine Roop, Susie Powell, and Kelly Hardison led the varsity throughout the season, adding strength and experience to the Man- zano attack. The Girls started practice the third day of school in September and worked to- gether everyday after school. The season's highlights includ- ed winning the sub-district championship and a third place finish in the District 3AA tournament.
