Only Nine Girls Finish Entire Swim Season This year's team was a very young team, confided Mrs. Tobie Griego, but the girls who stayed with the team were really dedicated, and they improved a lot. Of the nine girls who fin- ished the season, five were soph- omores. Since this was a young team, we expect to be much bet- ter in future years, continued Mrs.C.riego. Although the record tends to make the season look disappoint- ing, the team doesn't feel that it was. We all got along well with Mrs. G., affirmed Barbara Ro- gers. Even when she was real hard on us, she was fighting to make our team the same as any other Varsity sport. Debbie Whistler, Sr. Karla Sis- son and Beth Flint, jrs., and Bar- bara Rogers and Helen jenkins, Sophs., had qualifying times for the State meet in Las Cruces. Lisa Campbell, Sr. Laura Scott, Alice Nunley, and Crystal LeMaster, all Sophs., were within a few sec- onds of qualifying, High point scores for the sea- son were Helen lenkins with 109 pts.
