Randy Brigance Voted Most Valuable Player While playing one of the toughest sched- ules in New Mexico, we felt we were good competition, and throughout the year we did obtain certain, set out goals, said Coach Brummell. He then went on to say that the Manzano football team was a hard working group, which never quit. This overall football season was more rewarding and fulfilling than it seems by just the scores. Although the Monarchs didn't have as good a season as they would have liked, the spirit of the student body never died. Rain or shine, the crowd was always there cheering the Mon- archs on. There was never a dull moment in the eyes of the cheering crowd. Confetti, con- sisting of torn paper and rolls of toilet paper, was thrown into the air above the heads of the crowd. This was not always approved of by the people in the press box, but it was done to express the spirit of the crowd for the team.
