Kanchu discusses her United States history lesson with teacher DuWayne Black- shear. Z' anchu is Sixth Exchange Monarch Rushing between classes has become a routine for Kanchu as it has for all Manzano students. 84 Bob Conyers assists Kanchu with a frog dissection assignment in Charles Pearce's Biology I class, Kanchu Bundella, Manzano's foreign ex change student from India, has certainl spent a successful year in the United State -at least her fellow students feel so. Whil mastering the language and the New Mex ico dialects, Kanchu found time to partici pate in the Ski Club, International Club Pep Club, and Student Council. Being member of the Monarch Day Court aug mented her circle of friends and she cer tainly was a lovely court member, on Manzano will long remember. Although Kanchu's world was inevitably broadened by this experience, Monarchs agree that sh has done even more to enlighten them. Bub- bling, vivacious, and out-going, Kanchu quickly assimilated into the life of the American teenagersmlearning American ideals, customs and developing an Ameri- can sense of humor.

ANNABELLE GRUBB Sophomore , The only sophomore to achieve recognition in the '68 Who's Who, An- nabelle Grubb has accomplished a great deal in the short time she has been a student here and has earned the respect of her teachers and classmates, The president of the sophomore class, Annabelle is directly responsible for the organization and success of most of that class's projects. She has proved herself to be a capable and efficient planner as she directed such activities as the candy sale, bake sale, the collection of dues, and the decoration of the halls for Homecoming. As a class president, she is an ex-officio member of Inner Council and she has also been elected a Student Council delegate. In these organizations, too, she has accepted responsibilities and discharged them with skill and efficiency. Annabelle also belongs to Speech Club and Spanish Club. In addition to her activities at school, Annabelle volunteers her services to work as a tutor at the Indian School and is an active partici- pant in the activities of her church, including serving as a Sunday School teacher. Reading and participating in all types of sports are two of the spare-time things she enjoys. Aspiring to become a lawyer, Annabelle would like to attend the University of Kansas or the University of Missouri. In addition to her law degree, she plans a minor in Spanish. CINDY CORENMAN Senior ,ww ee l Q i .r I . f fl -is . A . I' Q Speaker at heart, Cindy Corenman exhibits her talents by the many speech trophies awarded to her. Her activities vary from Speech Club and Spanish Honor Society to skiing, dramatics and tennis. She loves creative and modern dance as well. Serving as Nationalist Party Leader for Girls' State, she is also a member of Staters' Club. She still finds time for studying and inevitably makes the honor roll and is a member of National Honor Society. She is also an active member of National Forensic League, Drama Club, Ski Club and International Club. Her church plays a big part in her life, and she devotes many hours to heading its youth organization. Each time a big event comes around she is there to offer her time to the decorating and planning committees. In her junior year, Cindy was Homecoming chairman for tickets and junior Prom chairman of invitations and sales. As a senior she headed the Student Council's Twirp Week dance and decorations. In the summer, Cindy enjoys traveling. During her free time she skis and rides horses. Although she has been accepted at the University of Colorado, she has also applied to Stanford, Radcliffe and Smith. Next year, at the university she chooses, she will major in math or science.
