R Richard Reinhardt fights for the rebound and succeeds in getting the ball in the opening game against St. Pius. Manzano wrestler John Highfill works to maintain his hold on his opponent at a meet between the Monarchs and Sandia. Tonya Parker, Manzano tutor and member of FTA, makes helpful suggestions to a Chelwood Elementary School pupil. One of the most exciting months of the year, December was filled with exciting activi- ties. The beginning of the winter sports season was an exciting one as both wrestlers and bas- ketball team members provided spirited and thrilling contests for spectators. The Christmas spirit was evident as homerooms decorated their doors for the annual decorating contest. The music department added to the spirit of the season with a Christmas carol concert. School was dismissed for the holidays follow- ing an assembly featuring selections by the Modern and Honor Choirs.
