Student Body Elects Royalty, Chosen from over fifty contestants and eleven finalists, Trish Rattan assumed the traditional Monarch Day throne, as the eighth Manzano High Homecoming Queen. Along with her princesses, Sheryl Sharp and Laurie Wilson, she presided over the day's activities, the assembly, game and dance. Attending Trish Rattan and her princesses were Cynthia Baikie, Kanchu Bundellu, Kitty Carpenter, Janis Chisholm, Shelly Connery, Barbara Elliot, Sylvia Fox and Nicki Harp. The festive day be- gan with the beautiful Coronation assembly and gained momen- tum as the Monarchs overwhelmed their Los Alamos opponents. The traditional dance completed the days activities in a majestic atmosphere. Trish Rattan, Monarch Day Queen, reigns with Princesses Sherryl Sharp and Laurie Wilson. Peggy Fleming, Monarch Day Queen of 1966, congratulates Queen Trish moments after she was crowned. Queen Trish beams as she accepts a gift from the Monarch while escort Bill Craig looks on.
