Manzano graduated 554 seniors at Commencement Exercises in the Civic Auditorium on May 31. The 67 Scepter was dedicated to Jerry Long, counselor, who receives his annual and gift.

September 5 was registration day for the returning and beginning Monarchs of the 1967-68 school year. Principal Jewell Brown gets off to a busy start dis- tributing teacher's notices and mail. September is a bustling month with the chaotic business of registering, enrolling and breaking in the new routine. Teachers as well as students battle with the difficul- ties of adjustment. Some students begin ad- justing much earlier, football players began practice sessions in early August leading to a pre-school win over Roswell on September l. Teachers met for preparatory discussions before the 67-68 term began. Students elected Chuck Peterson to lead the student body, and the sophomore class took early steps to elect their class officers and inner council members. The energetic Monarchs set out in early Autumn to establish a prece- dent of spirit, loyalty to the school and an enthusiasm toward all school-oriented pro- jects to last through the year.
