Pep Club nspires Spirit Pep Club Officers: Bambi Beske, treasg Vicki LaValley, v. pres.g June Chavez, pres.g Pam Herigodt, v. pres.g Rita Richards, sec.g Sharon Aragon, hist. Norma Sims, Sponsor The sea of purple and white seen in the stands at all Manzano sports events ' was the pep club. The group of sophomore, junior, and senior girls pro- mote spirit at assemblies and games. Bus trips were taken to the out of town games and matches to support the teams. The pep club beat the G.A.A. for the first time in the annual powder puff foot- ball game played for half-time entertain- ment during a regular football game. Comprised of Manzano varsity letterman the M Club is designed to promote spirit and a sportsman-like attitude among the students as well as to serve less fortunate Albuquerquens in as many ways as possible. Bruce Ainsworth, an outstanding representative of Manzano in various facets of the sports world is the president elect of M club. Through various types of sales, dances and other such activities, the M club treasurer, boasted a S250 totaled earnings by January of '68. These outstanding young leaders raised money to send homeless boys to Dodger baseball games and furnished them with T-shirts.
