Norma Sims, Sponsor The sea of purple and white seen in the stands at all Manzano sports events ' was the pep club. The group of sophomore, junior, and senior girls pro- mote spirit at assemblies and games. Bus trips were taken to the out of town games and matches to support the teams. The pep club beat the G.A.A. for the first time in the annual powder puff foot- ball game played for half-time entertain- ment during a regular football game. The girls represent Manzano in sports competition in Albuquerque and throughout G.A.A, encourages participation of all sports where they excel. G.A.A. members sponsored and participated in the annual powder puff football game against the Pep Club. They also participated in two sports days, one at Highland and the other at Albuquerque High. The sports-minded girls sold candy to raise money for uniforms.
