In order to give all students some representation in the governing of their school, the Manzano Stu- dent Council meets weekly and discusses pending problems of the schoolls efficiency. Elected by the air -.I ll ,ii students of their homerooms, the student council representatives lead the school in charitable move- ments and enjoyable extra-curricular activities. Sponsoring the January Twirp Week, the Christmas door-decorating contest, Thanksgiving, can collec- tion drives, and the series of Penny Wednesdays which add to the foreign student exchange fund, the student council is undoubtedly the most active or- ganization in Manzano. Indispensable in its many and varying uses, and serving as a guide to governmental procedure, the Student Council provides the most efficient means possible of injecting an understanding and meaning- ful adult attitude into the students of Manzano.
