The Barons came up with their first victory of the season when they showed no mercy to the Santa Fe Demons, as they trounced them 75-43. The junior varsity picked up wins over Rio Grande 55-51, Gallup 58-56 and Espanola 60-54. The C-team, coached by John Thomas ended their season with a 4-8 overall record. The sophs lost their big men at mid-season and had to manage the rest of the season without most of their top scorers. The sophs first win of the season was against West Mesa as they swamped them 56-37, while downing Los Alamos 62-49, Valley 70-55 and again beating West Mesa 80-42, to give them their four season wins. Pat Flemming, getting an assist from Bob Brown grabs a rebound as Baron Mike Sanchez and Valley defenders look on. Center Bob Brown drives past Valley defenders to score an easy lay-up as the Barons breezed on to a 70-55 victory over the Norse- ITICII.
