sv,-fzzmg W his school year opened up with many changes. The first and foremost in our minds was the new dress code. Yes, after all of those hot years since the fifth grade, the stu- dents finally got their wish- SHORTS! From now on, during the first and last grading periods, Manualites can wear shorts. The new policy can be attributed on the most part to picketing and petitioning stu- dents at Richwoods High School, Harry Whittaker, was opposed to this dress code policy, but it was passed anyway. Along with the new dress code came a new athletic policy. This poli- cy prohibits transfer students from competing in any sport for two aca- demic years. Many students are dis- couraged from transfering at the prospect of not participating. Two big changes in the Homecom- ing Tradition were the exclusion of the Hall Decs and the reduction of the Homecoming Court. This years court had one queen and 4 attendants instead of the past two queens and eight attendants. To compensate for the loss of Hall Decs many after school activities were added. Manual has also obtained a new dean, Mr. Shippman and a new Ad- ministrative Assistant for Curriculum, Mr. Russell. This year's budget allowed for an extended computer lab. This lab is for the math and science classes. ZXOPENING and it looks great! Doug Baird is leading his class in the Home- coming pep-assembly. He did a good job be- cause the Seniors won. Brooke Bowie was voted most likely to nag the photographer to take her picture. Congra- tulations, Brooke! Steve Anderson never shies away from a cam- , era. Today at lunch Steve got his hair done,
