They give him an opportunity to follow special interests, increase his social life, and prepare him to become an interested citizenof his community. Many of the clubs have offered these opportunities to students since the early day at old Manual. Now with additional facilities for varied activities these clubs move toward a vital future in the new school. Bill I-Ieartsfield, Linda Wright, Ralph Lawson, and Roger Hoerr show that old Manual spirit as the Rams score their second touchdown before their half-time band per- formance at the Richwoods' foot- ball game, ' Elw Bud Grimm receiving the Frank Chizmar Trophy. Student Council Our Student Council under the leadership of Bud Grimm, our Mayor, has the task of planning and carrying out the many extra -curricular activities. The most important of these activi- ties is the Homecoming which consists of the electing of the queen, the parade, and the dance. Among other activities are the after game dances, paid assemblies, and Christmas bas- kets. These students lived with American fam- ilies and attended school as regular high school students. After graduating from high school, the students were taken on abus trip to different cities in the United States. The trips were climaxed by a visit to the Capitol in Washington D.C . Ships and planes then took the students back to their prospec- tive countries . This year, as you know, We are host to Gon- zalo Lobos fChaloD from Chile.
