Manual Wins Big Twelve. City. and Greater Peoria Crowns Led by Harold Kunkel, outstanding performer in the Peoria area, the Man- ual Rams finished with unbeaten slates in City and Greater Peoria Conferences while only losing once in Big Twelve Play. Supplementing Kunkel as keys to success were good fielding and good hitting support. As a team, Manual hitters ranked first among Greater Pe- oria teams and their fielding was among the best also. While winning l7 and losing only 5, the Rams showed their superiority time and time again. However, their hitting failed them in tournament play as they dropped a l-0 decision to State Finalist Limestone after beating Woodruff 2-l in eight innings. 73 Coach Stonebock Again Molds A Winner Winning seems to be a tradition with baseball coach Ed Stonebock. ln eight years at Manual, he has yet to experience a losing season. The most games ever lost in one season by one of his teams has been six. On the other hand, no team of his has ever Won less than titteen games. This year's record brings his lifetime record at Manual up to l46-29. His top season was 1950 when his squad had a 25-O record and Won the State Championship. Nice work, Ed. .sv liflifs- , ,. QM .
