Sponsors The graduating class of 1949 leaves Manual with high ambitions, many honors, and with one wish to make a success. To our sponsors, Mrs. Nellie Eckles, arid Elbert Shores goes our deepest appreciation for their counsel and guidance throughout our four years at Manual. In our freshman year we were noted for our fine turn-outs at the mixers our class sponsored. In our Sophomore year we were known for our fine speakers. This continued through our years at Manual. Our Junior year sponsored the lovely Junior and Senior Prom. Next of all important happenings, was the measuring of Senior rings. The Senior year came with a flood of many events. First We spon- sored a Senior mixer, which turned out to everyone's satisfaction. Time passed on to the ordering of announcements for the longed-for-commence ment. National Honor Society found us all waiting for the thrill of white dresses and dark suits. Senior Class Day was a huge success with every senior wondering what it's going to be like on the outside.
