BOARD OF TRUSTEES Lewis W Roach Manuel Correa Thomas R Gibson Walter R Tucker Bettye R Smith President Wendell T Handy Vice President Marv Lee Baker Clerk j THE NATURE OF THE EDUCATION PROCESS Knowing much work lies before them the Board of Trustees prepares for long night The Board of Trustees has always been a driving force in the betterment of the education in the Compton Unified School District With public pressure constantly on them they have always tried to make the best decision concerning the welfare of students Meeting once monthly the Board always has a full agenda At the meeting they discuss, prepare and release reports concerning education in Compton school A student laision member from each of the high schools is present to make known the feelings of the high school students Visiting all the schools In the district, the Board has tried to make themselves known to the general public They have also attended meetings of concerned parents in an effort to better understand the problems facing both parents and students
