This was to be our home for the coming three years. Here everyone would have an equal chance to partici- pate in school activities. Irene Kruli and Bettirae Wimperls were accepted into Co-eds. Their job was service to the school . Already the brains of the class were beginning to show with Eva Zschoche, George Broder and Florrene Hays being accepted into scholarship society. Into the Aeolian Club went Dan Marquette and Tommy Griffith. A-10 Hope and ambition started the last half of our sophomore year. We were now beginning to know our way around Aanual ' s buildings and campus. We started our A-10 semester with Aeolian Club accepting Frank Coe, John Graves, Andy Morris, Wesley Doe, and Gil Valencia. Orchestra accepted Bette Murray and George Broder. In G.A.A. we found Martha Campbell, Laura Gonzales, Eve Vykydal, Janice Stayboldt, and Bette Murray. B-11 Now with a better Idea of how Manual operates, we faced our second year with new vigor and vitality. Bob Allen, Willard Penn, John Brown, and David Thomas were accepted into Lettermen ' s Society. TrI-S took Betty Sesplaukis and Florrene Hays. While HI-S accepted Frank Sole, Richard Garcia and Gary Hendrix. Elsie Vekich, James Wong, Ross Smith, Don Walker, and Frances Isola were working on the daily staff. This cabinet set the pattern for our B-12 semester. Many of our girls were active in Girl ' s Merit Board, Pavlovettes, and Lyric Club. B-12 Seniors at last, the moment which we all had been waiting for. Dino Pucelli, was again elected President; Bob Adams, Boys ' Vice; Irene Krull, Girls ' Vice; Bettirae Wimperis, Secretary; Lenetta Billings, Treasurer; Carol Foster, Historian; Thelma Brown, Yell Queen; and Gil Valencia, Editor of the Shooting Star , 19 CLASS HISTORY (continued) Tecumsehn class paper. Mr. Van Ess was assigned to sponsor our class. Many of our wonderful victories can be attributed to the cabinet and sponsor. Diaconians accepted Irene Krull, Laura Gonzales, Charlene Leavitt, Darlene Ingle, Bettirae Wimperis, and Janice Stayboldt. Knights seated at the round table were Paul Redman, Richard Garcia, Frank Sole, Dino Pucelli, Bob Adams, Eddie Woo, and Gil Valencia. Jeanne Vig, Elsie Vekich, Florrene Hays and Bettirae Wimperis served as Guardians. In Pavlovettes we found Martha Campbell, Lou Ann Wyckoff, and Charlene Leavitt. Scholarship Society accepted Bette Murray, Shonie Aki, Lou Ann Wyckoff, Barbara Stephens, Carol Foster, and Jeanne Vig. Senior Day at last! Name: TECUMSEHNS, Colors: BABY BLUE and CHERRY RED, for the remaining year this was to be our title. In years to come this name will go down on Manual ' s pages of history as the Greatest Little Class . With a score of 4-3 we had won our first senior day. The combined Senior Picnic was held at Exposition Park, pieswere thrown at the Tecumsehns and Continental class cabinet. Under Paris Skies was the senior prom. In honor of the Continentals. A-12 Another chapter of Manual ' s history will end January 28, 1955 when the Tecumsehn class graduates. Our final semester at Manual started with elections of officers. The Senior Picnic was again held at Exposition Park with the Ethanians. Cokes, Ice Cream, French Bread, and Spaghetti were served. On January 14, the Ethanians presented a truly great prom in honor of the Tecumsehns . Now that the moment that some have waited for, some have feared, but all have dreaded has arrived, we realize how much Manual means to us. Oh Manual may we never bring but honor to thy name. With these words we leave you. Manual, to reach our goal in life. TTifriTi i a ggj ia sgaggq TECUMSEHN CLASS PRESIDENT ' S FAREWELL Looking back over the past three years I realize that Manual has not only been a home, but also a small community. For it is here that we have learned to develop to the fullest extent all our capabilities. Interests, and enthusiasms. We, the Tecumsehns, now leave you. Manual, remembering the thoughts and deeds you have taught us. Willard Penn, President, Tecumsehn Class STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT ' S FAREWELL The three years the Tecumsehn class has spent here at Manual Arts have been memorable ones. We have met many people; a fine faculty has quided us well to the final day, and we are very grateful to them. It has meant a great deal to me to serve as your Student Body President and I can sincerely say that I will walk away with the whole Student Body In my heart. May God bless us all, until we meet again. Sincerely yours, Richard A.
