Denise Bartel, Terrie Durst and Jenny Whar- ton were the 1986-87 captains and with our foreign exchange student Ana Gaspar were the only seniors on the team. Team awards went to: Dione Swanson, most improved player; Jenny Wharton, most sportsmanlike player; Stacie Durst, best defensive player; and Denise Bartel was voted best offensive and most valuable. K- M played in the Faribault Bethlehem Academy tourna- ment. They played Lourdes (loss 59-15), Medford (win 44-29) and West Concord (loss 56-39).

You guys call yourselves football players? The 1986-87 KoMet Foot- ball season was a great one as Coach Dennis Yell and team captains Dan Olive, Gary Suess, and Chris Wanous helped lead the KoMets to a season record of 8 and 3. This years team named four players to the All-conference HVL: Dan Olive, Gary Suess, Dane Head, and Scott Berg. For the final finale at the end of the season, we had an awesome going-out with Byron for tne Region title in which we lost 20-21. Thanks for the great sea- son guys!
