During your last year of high school did you stop and think-appreciate-all of the events that occured throughout your high school life? We were so happy to graduate but now stop and think about this: There will be 'no more' sharing of lockers, 'no more' quick snacks or chats between classes, 'no more' tardy passes, ad- mit slips, or blue slips, 'no more' hot lunches, 'no more' noon hours, 'no more' plays, 'no more' proms, 'no more' active participation in sports, 'no more' teachers, 'no more' books and study- ing, 'no more' Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, 'no more' excuses for Mr. Ozbun, 'no more' homecomings, 'no more' everyday classmates-no more 'no mores'! We wish you happiness and joy for the rest of your life. In closing, when you were in school how much did you value your last some more 'no mores'? 45 The Editors Our Note — Worthy Page Many note-worthy events have come into being this year at K-M. Here are some of our events: Eighth hour was cancelled. In its place we acquired a new schedule. .. . schedule A, B, C.with a half an hour after first, second, and third hour respectively. This schedule didn't prove to be the most successful so after Thanksgiving vacation we switched to a rotating schedule. In this schedule the administration scheduled two hours long each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This schedule functioned the rest of the year. No bells rang between classes. We still had three minutes between classes, but no jarring announcement of it. Prom theme was WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN . Queen Lou Jean Ness and King Steve Koebele reigned over the evening. PEPPER FOG supplied the music. A1 Dorschner, Rich Olive, and Lon Meyer got first in the State for Meat Judging. They will go on to Kansas City. A special thanks to Mr. Bushlack for his terrific job. Best of luck! ! ! Homecoming theme was CHERISH with Queen Charlene Brandli reigning. George Wright soloed CHERISH for the queen. FTA held the Annual Silver Ball on December 21, featuring the THERICA . FHA tried many ways of making money, selling cards, calendars, and bake sales. They also sent ditty bags to service men. Art and French classes took a trip to the Cities to tour museums and Macalester College. Spring Fling was sponsored again by the Cheerleaders, featuring the FUNGUS . FFA cleaned the Mantorville Park and Dam area. For excitement, the guys brought snakes and frogs back to be educated; but due to the girls protests they were removed!! ! Charlene Brandli was Student of the Month of September. Ginger Herbst was Student of the Month of October. The Home Ec. Department was revised this year. Along with the chefs class, Handstitching and Re- Upholstering were added. Ninth gTade Basketball players won every game they played. The Little Brown Jug wasn't won back this year but prospects look good for next year. Kometeer Co-editors were Ginger Herbst and Mary Lyons. Honor Students were: Mark Aarsvold, Ginger Herbst, Bonnie O'Brien, Pam Gellert, Judy Walter, Steve Koebele, Barton Trapp, Lon Meyer, Linda Keller, and Mary Lyons. FTA Exchange switched students with Mountain Lake this year. Athlete of the year was Tom Threinen....Cheerleader of the Year was Charlene Brandli. Climate went to extremes this year. .......Winter brought many snow days and Spring brought excess thunder, lightening, and rain. Graduation day was accompanied with Tornado sirens. Best of luck to all teachers who are leaving us this year. A special thanks to Mr. Ozbun, for his cooperation and understanding with the Senior class and Under- classmen thru his past years of teaching and administration duties. Thanks to Mr. Carter, who helped Santa Claus come to our school this year. Homecoming replaced Blue and White Daze this year--with a parade added of each classes floats and our band. Golden Valley Choir entertained us with one of their choral concerts this year. Student Lounge could not be carried out due to next years schedule and lack of interest. FTA held Student Teacher Day twice this year—once in the fall and once in the spring. Mr. Swygman kept his beard all year long!!!! Our new FFA Chapter Sweetheart was Jean Robb. Senior Activities included the usual: snakedance, skip day, false fire alarms, and Graduation party. A special thanks to Mr. Vang for all of his time and patience in helping make this annual. 46 Mark Aarsvold f f f Ike Currier Pam Gellert John Finley Juliana Eidem A1 Dorschner Denise Dibble Jean Finley 'i Deb Erickson Debbie Erath r imey w cjU I Erath Barry Pat Gronert Steve Hairsine Larry Hanson Ginger Herbst Tom Hodnefield Alan Jensen Terry Jensen Wade Jensen Dennis Jones “Today Is The First Day Of The Rest Of Our Lives” Mark Redfern Ed Robinet “Gestures; Expressions; Glances; Words.
