The empty halls echo as seniors walk through their silhouetted doors. The walls echo not only the sound of their footsteps but also the sounds of their laughter and tears, their fears and joys; all the memories of six years of life. As the senior looks down these halls he sees more than lockers and doors. It is almost as though the halls knows what he is thinking. The halls know about the memories; the KOMETS, the teachers, 3:34, the classes, the bells, the feel of the cool wind blowing across the brightly-lit football field, the wet dew on the grass in first-hour phy-ed, the infectious spirit of basketball games, the long hours of practice for sports, study hall passes, pep fests, Mr. Ozbun, lockers slamming, the morning announcements, the endless meetings, slumber parties, broken romances and going steady , the noon stampede, snow days, laps around the football field, spring fever, Blue-and-White-Days, homecoming, skip-day, the cry of the cheerleaders ringing through the halls, Mr. Swygman standing up against the door to 207, class rings, prom, and the planning for prom, class plays, Buckle Down, and classmates, friend or foe, the kids he has been going to school with for almost his entire life, but may never see again after graduation. The halls and the Senior remember these things silently, and the halls know that the Senior is ready to graduate, even eager. Yet.. . saying good-bye to something as indescribably precious as the memories of even the routine days of high school is something very, very painful and very, very, lonely, because the Senior never knew what it was really all about until it was over. With this in mind, I dedicate this annual to the Great Class of Nineteen-Hundred-and-Seventy. A fellow classmate and editor The editors would like to add a special note of appreciation to Mr. Donald Vang, for his help on this annual and for being a great friend. The editors would like also to express the theme of this annual and express an opin- ion. One picture is worth a thousand words, and this annual, like this school, belongs to the students. 2
