Officers: Greg Zelinske, Brenda Trapp, Margo Berg, and Gary Severtson. 12 Members Inducted Into NHS The happy moment The induction ceremony of the National Honor Society was held in the high school gym on April 17. The guest speaker was Rev. Collins from the Congregational Church in Mantorville. He spoke on the necessity of the four virtues: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Charac- ter. Then the officers of the society gave their in- terpretations of the four virtues. The tapping ceremony followed. The officers went into the audience and tapped the new members. Mr. Ozbun presented the members for induction to the Superintendent, Mr. Carter, who read the oath and swore the new members into the society. This concluded the induction ceremony. A tea was held the following week. Parents, faculty and the administration were invited. Both old and new members of the Society pre- sented a talent show. Mr. Kraft presented the membership certificates and the new officers for the coming year were installed. Smiles and a few tears are shed. 20 Margo lights the candle of character.
