Th K-M high school band numbering fifty students from grade seven to twelve kept busy sup- porting the school at football games, basketball games, pep fests and the Homecoming parade. Be- sides these activities they played several concerts, assembly programs, attended the Hiawatha Valley clinic, participated in the All-State music festival in the same league, the district music contest and the Region I contest. One function of the newly organized band council, which consists of the band officers plus one student from each class represented in the first band, is working on plans for new uniforms, according to Mr. Zesiger, band director. The second band is a training group of thirty- five seventh and eighth graders who meet five days a week. Of these five days, four are spent rehears- ing and the fifth day is used for studying the theory of music. During the year they prepare and give one concert for the public. BACK ROW: B. Johnson, J.
