Dennis Murphy is retiring presi- dent of the group. Awards were won in poetry, sports writing, make- up and feature writing. At the Minnesota High School Press Association Convention at Minneapolis on April 24. Dennis Murphy won a first on his sports column, Michael Southworth won second in art. and the Kometeer won second place in the mimeograph division. Michael Southworth was staff artist, and Dan Bartel was senior photograph- er. An Honor Roll Bawl, to which any “A or “B” honor roll mem ber was admittel free, opened the money-raising campaign. Led by Business Manager Clay Albertson, the business staff sold ice cream novelties during noonhours.
